WE GOT THE JOB!!
On December 9th, I was home sick. My Dad was on a conference call with co-workers. Then, at 9:45 he came into my room. At first I thought he was going to tell me to stop playing on my Ipad, but then he said, "Ronan don't scream because I'm on a conference call, but the Foreign Service want's me to come to their January A-100 class(special diplomat training)." I jumped up and hugged him. Then he said we'll talk more after my conference call. I couldn't believe it. We were almost certain that we wouldn't be called up to the January class, but to the March class. Now,we will be living in a hotel for new year's eve and until the fifth or sixth of January. Then we will take a plane(probably Southwest) to D.C were we will spend a few days with our cousins before moving into or condo. I am super excited and ready for our new life.

Ronan ... Your 20th Century grandfather has finally learned how to comment on your 21st Century blog ... I think. That has yet to be proven. Anyway, I really like what you are writing. All very clear and well said.
ReplyDeleteI'm rooting for Beijing, because China is so interesting right now. We could come and visit you and hike on the "wild side" of the Great Wall. The kids could go to the waterpark which is in the crazy Water Cube that they build for swimming during the Beijing Olympics. You could also visit the Terracotta Warriors in Xi'an. I wanna do that! Plus, I knew some people at the US Embassy there, and the kids all loved their school.
